From the batch of flyers I received in the mail over the weekend comes a decompression seminar in El Segundo, California, a nutrition seminar in Ventura County, California, and a core stabilization seminar also in California (but I thought it was in Cabo San Lucas).

The decompression seminar is on December 1 (which is a Saturday) from 830 to 5 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2100 East Mariposa Ave., El Segundo, CA 90245. According to the flyer it’s going to be a small hands-on event which will be limited to 50 registrations. Seminar fee is $125 and there are no credits for continuing education. For more information, you can call 1-800-258-4444.

I’ll be at the Schofield Chiropractic year-end extravaganza at the Biltmore Hotel in Arizona that weekend. It promises to be an awesome event with lots of goal setting for the 2008 season.

I received another flier from Tim O’Shea in San Jose about a nutrition seminar being held in Ventura, California, on November 10, 2007. That it is Saturday and the event is going to be a the Four Points Sheraton which is at 1050 Schooner Drive in Ventura. Event starts at 8 a.m. and there will be 12 hours of continuing education credit for doctors of chiropractic. Dr. Tim will also be hosting a similar event in San Jose on November 17. According to the flyer, the registration fee for chiropractors is $215 in advance and $235 at the door. The fee for the general public (which include spouses and students) is $99. To get registered for the event you can call 408-298-1800.

Topics include: heart medications and heart disease, the cholesterol myth, complete patient nutrition programs, critical importance of enzymes for clean blood, detox for vaccines, brain fats neurology in chiropractic, probiotics and allergies, weight loss and longevity, Colon detox, arterial detox, pediatric and prenatal nutrition, and a significant number of other nutrition related topics. I’ve been to Dr. Tims seminars before and he’s pretty excited about his topics. He delivers a wealth of information at his seminars and I’d recommend them for the general public, as well as for chiropractors. I’ll be at another seminar in Anaheim that weekend so count me out for Ventura.

Last flyer comes from Dr. Kirk Meier and the topic is core stabilization. The front of the flier said Cabo San Lucas so I thought that’s where the conference was going to be. Turns out there’s going to be an event there in 2008. This core stabilization seminar is approved for 12 hours of continuing education in the state of California (including four hours of technique) and it’s going to be in Fremont, California on November 8, 2007. There’s a number of other dates for the seminars so you may want to call 510-713-7117 to get more information. According to the flyer, preregistration is $250 and at the door the event is $295. Student rate is $150 and everyone is asked to dress comfortably, and bring portable adjusting tables if you have them.

From the flyer: The core stability program explores the economic and technological factors that have contributed to the decreasing integrity of the core musculature in today’s society. There is a second program called core stabilizationPLUS, contact Dr. Kirk at the number above for more information about that.
