Dead Chiropractors and other May Events

by Michael Dorausch, DC There’s a few chiropractic seminars and events going on during the month of May, which I wanted to bring to your attention. First, before April wraps up, Southern California chiropractors will be gathering together in Newport Beach, California for the one and only California Jam being hosted by the dead chiropractic society. After you’re done partying in the OC area of Southern California, you can had up north to Sacramento for the 2008 Legislative Conference which is taking place on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. Gonstead Chiropractic Technique Seminars

by Michael Dorausch, DC I’ve been lax in getting chiropractic seminar information posted to this blog. I did manage to get a post regarding the ChiroEurope May Extravaganza up earlier in the week, but there’s been dozens of seminars and conferences that I didn’t get around to posting. I’ve had a flyer on my desk for a Gonstead technique seminar in Palm Springs California, and I wanted to get that information posted before the event takes place next week. This is a one-day seminar, taking place on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the Courtyard Palm Springs 92262. The event is

Chiropractic Continuing Education

by Michael Dorausch, DC This post is intended to serve as an online continuing education resource for chiropractors seeking information regarding postgraduate studies, license renewal, and other sources of training available to the chiropractic profession. The phrase Chiropractic Continuing Education typically refers to educational studies that are required for license renewal, for already licensed doctors of chiropractic. This form of education may also be referred to as relicensing courses, postgraduate studies, license renewal seminars, and CE (short for continuing education). Types of Continuing Education In the industry of chiropractic, postgraduate education typically focuses on core topics such as chiropractic technique,

Next Generation of Neurological Therapy

by Michael Dorausch, DC Among mail I received today was an advertisement for a Total Natural Health Seminar which is scheduled for December 8 in Costa Mesa, California. According to the flyer I received it appears that the seminar is focused on selling a electronic product that looks like a balance board and hooks up to a computer. The seminar will show how to use the equipment (which is priced at $2495 on the flyer). There is no doubt in my mind that balance is incredibly important, and this product reportedly engages both the visual and vestibular system, thereby providing

Karl does Vegas with X-Ray and Technique

by Michael Dorausch, DC I received another fax today from Karl Parker Seminars regarding a chiropractic event in Las Vegas on January 10-13, 2008. I checked the events pages and didn’t notice any information added by the folks putting on this event. Would be a great idea to they got their information listed. I believe I covered the details of the event in a previous post but in summary there will be 12 hours of chiropractic technique and five hours of clinical x-ray. This should satisfy continuing education requirements for active doctors of chiropractic in the state of California. Event

Cervical Spine Trauma Symposium at SCUHS

by Michael Dorausch, DC Brochures, mailers, postcards, and faxes are increasingly coming into my chiropractic office with seminars and events taking place in the Southern California area during the first few months of 2008. There’s Dan Murphy’s nutritional neurology event taking place in Irvine in January, and I just noticed there’s going to be a interdisciplinary symposium held on campus at the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) on February 23rd and 24th. Information regarding the event is available in the continued education section of the events and seminar pages. There is expected to be 12 hours of continuing

by Michael Dorausch, DC There is a nutritional neurology and chiropractic event being held at the Irvine Marriott on January 19 and 20th in 2008. Event features Dr. Dan Murphy, a popular speaker on the chiropractic profession’s continuing education circuit. Details for the seminar are listed on the chiropractic continuing education pages (check the continuing education or nutrition fields). The program has been submitted for approval to the California State Board of Chiropractic Examiners for 12 hours of continuing education. I mentioned earlier this week to make sure you check with your state regarding continuing education credit, especially if you

Conferences near Airports

by Michael Dorausch, DC I live close to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and there are all sorts of conferences being held within a two-mile radius of the airport on a regular basis. Among some of the chiropractic conference notifications I received this past weekend there was one being held at the Doubletree Hotel near LAX and it was being sponsored by Life University. The event offered a seven hour relicensing continuing education credit but there were no technique hours offered. Instructors included Catherine Franklin, a chiropractor who was a former professor of clinical sciences at Life University, and Peter

Therapeutic Healing Workshops and X-Ray License Renewal

by Michael Dorausch, DC I received one of those super large color and glossy postcards today from a place called the Soul Blazing Sanctuary in Sherman Oaks, California. One of my celebrity actor clients from Encino was just asking if I knew a good chiropractor in the Sherman Oaks area, and I gave him phone numbers for Michael and Patrick. They are both great chiropractors. Back to the card… According to the postcard, the soul blazing sanctuary holds weekend workshops as well as life coaching sessions. They’re offering evenings with special guest healers, swami’s, and different teachers related to the
