Fundamentals of Chiropractic

I don’t know the source of the material I’m sharing here today but I certainly thought it was worth sharing (it was worth me re-reading it as well – Guilty). I was in the garage cleaning out some old textbooks and notes from my days in chiropractic school and I came across this on two sheets of paper. It was amongst boxes of historical chiropractic information gathered over the years. I have a suspicion who the author is but I am verifying the information first. Chiropractic is not the treatment of symptoms, nor is it the treatment of disease. Chiropractic […]

The Rock of Faith 1927

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I am an odd fellow when it comes to numbers and dates. I’ll find a coffee can from 1895, and think about how it was made the same year DD Palmer discovered chiropractic. I will see a stone marked 1897 on the front of a building, and be reminded that was the year Palmer Chiropractic College was founded in Davenport Iowa. A magazine from 1911 reminds me of the year a Chiropractic College was established in Los Angeles. So it was only natural, that while hiking in the middle of nowhere (actually among 865,000+ acres of […]

New Beginnings Student Fund

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Something I have long loved about the New Beginnings chiropractic philosophy events taking place in New Jersey is their commitment to chiropractic students. While I was attending a speakers luncheon on Saturday, cards were handed out in support of the student fund. I grabbed a photo of the card, so that chiropractors wanting to participate in helping current and future chiropractic students get more chiropractic philosophy, could get info on becoming involved. Help Support Chiropractic Students The student committee helps support students to attend New Beginnings. This feed s the lifeblood of chiropractic and ensures that […]

Keep the Well from Getting Sick

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Postcard arrived today from Schofield Chiropractic Training in Phoenix, Arizona. It was a simple postcard with a quote from BJ Palmer, developer of Chiropractic. There is a poster with a drawing of BJ Palmer on it, with these same words. Great for any chiropractic office (will maybe not any chiropractic office, but those that are practicing chiropractic). I will sell Chiropractic, serve Chiropractic, and save Chiropractic if it will take me 20 lifetimes to do it. I will promote it within the law, without the law, keeping with the law or against the law in order […]

By Sharon Gorman, D.C. Gorman Chiropractic Life Centers The Holidays are on the way and people need a little more TLC and to discuss something other than the weather and their issues so here’s my idea. A Contest!!!! Done many, many before but haven’t done one in a while so I got one going since Monday in my office and I thought I’d share it with you in hope that it gets a little fire lit in your practice too. This a corny contest and for some reason most people love corny contests even if they wouldn’t admit it. So […]

The answer to these questions shapes your life

By Sharon Gorman, D.C. Get quiet for a second. What do you hear? That voice keeps on talking. Feelings keep on coming up. For the flash of a second that you hear that or feel that you don’t get to choose it. It is there. Now what do you do with it. . . the thought. . . what do you do with it if it is negative. Do you let the negative in and start feeling bad about yourself? Do you start to doubt your abilities? Your previous choices? Your judgment? The answer to these questions shapes your life. […]

Getting Real About the Reality

By Sharon Gorman, D.C. Last Saturday afternoon Armand Rossi did a two hour training session for Chiropractors in my office between my Open House for the patients and our Philosophy Night at the Hotel. The entire day was awesome. At the end of his talk he asked us if we had any questions and I tried to think of a good question to have him continue thinking. I like the way he thinks. Some people are Chiropractors and some Chiropractors are Chiropractic through and through and Armand is one of those, so I love to hear how he thinks things […]

9 new chiropractic patients keeps me excited

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. If you’d been paying any attention to this blog during the past few days you may have noticed that I was in San Francisco for an Internet get together (I don’t dare call it conference) known as WordCamp. I left my chiropractic office in Los Angeles on Friday night at 7 p.m. and we had just completed a spectacular week. Thanks to my extraordinary staff and worlds greatest patients, I was able to go straight from the office to LAX airport and get on an 8:15 p.m. flight for San Francisco. I love that feeling I […]

Just Thinking About Relationships

By Sharon Gorman, D.C. I was just thinking about relationships, specifically the relationship that you have with your spouse or significant other. Both people need to get what they need out of the relationship or they probably won’t stay in it. Wouldn’t make much sense to stay in a relationship that you aren’t winning at. I know that one of the most important things to my husband is that he feels like he is pleasing me. He wants and needs my approval as much as I need his. In all the arrangements that we make we try to set it […]
