Fundamentals of Chiropractic

I don’t know the source of the material I’m sharing here today but I certainly thought it was worth sharing (it was worth me re-reading it as well – Guilty). I was in the garage cleaning out some old textbooks and notes from my days in chiropractic school and I came across this on two sheets of paper. It was amongst boxes of historical chiropractic information gathered over the years. I have a suspicion who the author is but I am verifying the information first. Chiropractic is not the treatment of symptoms, nor is it the treatment of disease. Chiropractic […]

The Rock of Faith 1927

by Michael Dorausch, DC I am an odd fellow when it comes to numbers and dates. I’ll find a coffee can from 1895, and think about how it was made the same year DD Palmer discovered chiropractic. I will see a stone marked 1897 on the front of a building, and be reminded that was the year Palmer Chiropractic College was founded in Davenport Iowa. A magazine from 1911 reminds me of the year a Chiropractic College was established in Los Angeles. So it was only natural, that while hiking in the middle of nowhere (actually among 865,000+ acres of […]

New Beginnings Student Fund

By Michael Dorausch, DC Something I have long loved about the New Beginnings chiropractic philosophy events taking place in New Jersey is their commitment to chiropractic students. While I was attending a speakers luncheon on Saturday, cards were handed out in support of the student fund. I grabbed a photo of the card, so that chiropractors wanting to participate in helping current and future chiropractic students get more chiropractic philosophy, could get info on becoming involved. Help Support Chiropractic Students The student committee helps support students to attend New Beginnings. This feed s the lifeblood of chiropractic and ensures that […]

Keep the Well from Getting Sick

By Michael Dorausch, DC Postcard arrived today from Schofield Chiropractic Training in Phoenix, Arizona. It was a simple postcard with a quote from BJ Palmer, developer of Chiropractic. There is a poster with a drawing of BJ Palmer on it, with these same words. Great for any chiropractic office (will maybe not any chiropractic office, but those that are practicing chiropractic). I will sell Chiropractic, serve Chiropractic, and save Chiropractic if it will take me 20 lifetimes to do it. I will promote it within the law, without the law, keeping with the law or against the law in order […]

9 new chiropractic patients keeps me excited

by Michael Dorausch, DC If you’d been paying any attention to this blog during the past few days you may have noticed that I was in San Francisco for an Internet get together (I don’t dare call it conference) known as WordCamp. I left my chiropractic office in Los Angeles on Friday night at 7 p.m. and we had just completed a spectacular week. Thanks to my extraordinary staff and worlds greatest patients, I was able to go straight from the office to LAX airport and get on an 8:15 p.m. flight for San Francisco. I love that feeling I […]

Old Habits are Hard to Break

By Travis Robertson (6th trimester student – Palmer College) If you have ever tried to break yourself of a bad habit, you know how hard it can be. You have to break it once then again and again and again. You have to do it many times at relatively close intervals. This helps your body to retrain itself to a new habit. Hopefully the new one is better than the old. We are creatures of habit. We find a pattern that we are comfortable with and follow it to a tee, often without conscious thought. We merely revert to our […]

Holistic Chiropractic Healing

By Sid Mouk, D.C. One of the toughest lessons I had to learn and, perhaps, that we all have to learn is that no external circumstances, happenings, or people are ever the cause of the problems/dis-eases in my life. I finally learned that when I have a “problem/dis-ease” in my life, the problem is “ME,” not anything or anyone else! All I have to do to confront the problem is to look in the mirror that’s what most people would consider the bad news. The good news, however, is that all I have to do to find the solution to […]

Chiropractic Healing

By Super CA Jackie Do You Believe Your Body Has the Ability to Heal Itself? For many people who walk into a Chiropractor’s office the first time, they really don’t know what to expect. We hear from time to time: “I don’t think this is going to work, but I’ll give it a couple of times.” Ok, so now you walked in with a negative attitude. Your Chiropractor will take the time to explain if and how he/she feels Chiropractic can help you. You still leave the office thinking that this is too good to be true. The first thing […]
