Stop the Drama Vote for Obama

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I grabbed this photograph on Friday when a patient in my chiropractic office in Los Angeles took off his jacket to lay face down on an adjusting table. Were not talking politics in my chiropractic office (although many patients have initiated discussion) but we’ve had several 2008 election related posts to the Planet Chiropractic web site. One of the most popular is website secrets, which took a look at how three presidential candidates were optimizing their web sites for search engines. Just yesterday we had a news post about 2008 presidential and party funding from healthcare […]

Nerds Are Taking over Hollywood and Santa Monica

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. There was a time that I would party five nights a week (Cat Club, Coconut Teaser, The Rainbow, The Troubadour, and The Whiskey) with friends in the clubs of Hollywood. I refer to those times as the rock ‘n roll years. It’s funny how things change, but continue to remain the same, here on the west side of Los Angeles. The parties have never stopped, I suppose I just got involved in another crowd, a group I’d refer to as geeks and gadget holders, web entrepreneurs and online marketers, and social media mavens. Here it is […]

By Michael Dorausch Imagine having a video on YouTube that has less than a 1000 views. Pretty lame by social media standards. Now imagine that same video provides you with new business and also gets your business featured on a local TV news channel. Not so lame. Thanks to blended search, new and easy to implement opportunities exist for those seeking to increase exposure of their small business. News of Google Universal Search is not new. Google has been blending video and other content in its search results officially since May of 2007. But Universal Search has evolved, and we […]

3 Dell Setup 24″ LCD Display

CIMG3319, originally uploaded by planetc1. Finally managed to complete the setup of 3 monitors on my desktop along with an SVGA output to a 42″ plasma screen. Using 3 Dell 24 LCD Monitors – 2407WFPb. The setup is on a PC and uses 2 video cards. I combined a GeForce 6200 256MB PCI card along with a GeForce 6800 XTreme 256MB PCIe to get the 4 display output. Will do a detailed post for those curious to see how a setup like this can work.

Spinal Decompression and Possible Misuse of FDA Logo

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I was scanning through some websites this Saturday afternoon and something I came across on a chiropractors web site in Thousand Oaks, California, caught my attention. There was what appeared to be an advertisement for Spinal Decompression Services in the chiropractor’s office. What I found odd was seeing an FDA (Food and Drug Administration) logo underneath the link for more information on the spinal decompression service. This was different from what I saw in a San Jose decompression advertisement in February, so I decided to grab a screenshot. Let’s take a look… The image reads: The […]

New Direct Digital X-Ray Systems

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Bombarded with spam in my e-mail inbox yesterday. It’s nothing new, but what really ticks me off, is the amount of spam I get from businesses marketing to the chiropractic industry. I get x-ray spam, seminar spam, buy my pills spam, multi-level marketing nutritional products spam, make a million bucks conning selling patients into spinal decompression spam, and all sorts of other garbage. Some company marketing digital x-ray systems spammed every e-mail account on Planet Chiropractic yesterday, and when I checked e-mail at my chiropractic office in LA, there was more spam from the same company. […]

Gonstead Chiropractic Technique Seminars

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I’ve been lax in getting chiropractic seminar information posted to this blog. I did manage to get a post regarding the ChiroEurope May Extravaganza up earlier in the week, but there’s been dozens of seminars and conferences that I didn’t get around to posting. I’ve had a flyer on my desk for a Gonstead technique seminar in Palm Springs California, and I wanted to get that information posted before the event takes place next week. This is a one-day seminar, taking place on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the Courtyard Palm Springs 92262. The event is […]

Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor TED Talk

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor says “we are the life force power of the universe.” More than 10 years ago Jill had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: On December 10 of 1996, she realized she was having a massive stroke. A blood vessel had exploded in the left half of her brain, and in the course of four hours she experienced her brain completely deteriorate in its ability to process all information. Watch this stunning 18 minute video in which Jill Taylor shares her experience. The last few minutes are the most inspirational. The […]
