By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I was reading a Reuters report that stated fewer than a third of U.S. adults have received a flu vaccine so far this year and only about half said they intended to get one. The report goes on to explain why the authors feel this is the case. Rather than rely soley on drug company (partially) funded surveys I created a survey of my own, and had results in about 15 minutes. (This isn’t intended as health care advice, it’s just a collection of what people have to say on the issue.) Using my @chiropractic Twitter […]

RPC Relay HTML appearing in stats

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. This is a non-chiropractor related post, so excuse me for a few moments while I cover something webmasters may be doing some searches on. I was checking the stats for planetchiropractic.com earlier today, and I noticed an HTML file (rpc_relay.html) appearing in the list of popular URLs for the site. I hadn’t seen this particular HTML file appearing before so I initially suspected foul play. The file was amongst the top 10 most frequently accessed URLs appearing on the site so I was obviously curious to figure out what it was. After logging in to the […]

Karl Parker Seminars Celebrating 10 Years

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I received a fax the other day from Karl Parker Seminars saying they are holding their 10 year chiropractic seminar celebration on January 22 through January 25, 2009. The event is going to be at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas. The details of the event are on the chiropractic seminars page (scroll down for the January Karl Parker event). I’ve met Dr. Karl the few times over the years, always at seminars in Las Vegas, and this looks like it’s going to be a great chiropractic event. According to the flyer, there’s going to be […]

Medical Mimicry

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I was looking for a computer disk in the closet earlier and I found an old piece of paper with a photocopy featuring some text from BJ Palmer, the developer of chiropractic. Some will criticize the information posted, others will say that the words are just as strong and true today as they were when first written. Here is a scan of the image followed by a link to a PDF file I created of the photocopy before recycling it. For those interested, here is the PDF file. BJ Palmer Medical Mimicry I don’t know why […]

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Photos for the 2008 televised event are available here, thanks to Flickr, and the wonderful photographers that posted this year’s fashion show photos online. I could use the argument that as a chiropractor I’m only sharing these images of supermodels in lingerie for the value of posture analysis, but you’d see right through that, wouldn’t you? More on that below. Chances are you just want to see some Victoria’s Secret supermodel photos. There should be a Flash slideshow image viewer below. Click the play button (either in the center or bottom left) […]

Focus the East Coast – DCS the West Coast

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Two chiropractic events taking place this week that deserve the attention of this blog are Sharon Gorman’s Focus Chiropractic Event in Pennsylvania, and DCS in Newport Beach, California. The Focus event takes place at the Howard Johnson hotel in Bartonsville Pennsylvania on Saturday, December 6th. DCS December takes place Wednesday night, December 3rd. More information on the FOCUS meeting here. The above photograph was taken at a DCS earlier this year (either the Patrick Gentempo event or the Fred Schofield event) and it features chiropractors (or soon to be chiropractors) Christopher Vargas, Lance Cohen, Billy DeMoss, […]

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Add another project to the to do Whiteboard list, chiropracticmedia.com is now owned and operated by Planet Chiropractic. I’ve been thinking about a domain that would fit well for delivering chiropractic video’s, chiropractic audio, and chiropractic photos, and the term media popped up a few times. Turns out the previous owner of the chiropracticmedia.com domain was done with it, so making the acquisition was not a difficult task. There are thousands of photos like this one (not that anyone wants my face on their chiropractic web site) that I’d like to upload to one location for […]
