I agree with Bob. First my clients don't really care how I SEO they want results. All the SEO babble is of little concern except for may a few key issues.

One is, I always cover every city with a keyword within 100 miles. Sure branding is cool but bringing in five or whatever new patients is what they really want.

The importance of backlinks is way underrated.

In my view, a chiropract site has to be clean, not scientific, all image, plenty ow white space, testimonials, contact and your out.

hmmm...why not do both? i have been researching this quite a bit for my new clinic...executive express chiropractic in downtown san francisco. i am equally concerned with design and SEO. i want the website to match the classy look of the clinic...but i dont want the only people going there to be patients i already have...or just referrals. prospective patients do research online...so why not steer them to you, if you can.

Regardless of whether you are marketing online or patient referral, your website should still try to rank as high as possible. If your purpose is just a site for patients to view it may not matter, but I still feel its important to not have duplicate content and be penalized by the major search engines. Not a smart thing to do in the long run.

A recent post on Planet Chiropractic advocated that chiropractic practices use a local web designer when creating a web presence. As I read through the post, I kept nodding my head. “Definitely,” I thought. A professional business such a...

I disagree, and not just because I started a company that does chiropractic websites across North America. There is a common misconception about the purpose of a chiropractic website that your article continues to perpetuate. The purpose of a website should not be as an advertisement designed to find patients via search engines. That’s a nice idea, but it is NOT the way successful practices are built. Over 95% of all new patients come from referral. Why do we constantly spend time and money trying to enhance the 5%, when it is much easier, and productive to enhance the 95%? A website should be an educational resource for your office that helps current patients make referrals. If a chiropractor uses a local web designer to create a website, they may have a very pretty website that has no more educational value than a phone book ad. Quality educational material is the key to a successful website. It is far better to look at a website as an online lending library, then a cyberspace roadside billboard.
