Vaccine Court Autism Article Fuels Comments

Planet Chiropractic last week published a news article regarding the topic of vaccinations, a concern from parents about a possible link to autism, and a group of court hearings that began on Monday, June 11, 2007 in Arizona. Like nearly every news article published on planetc1.com since 2002, the piece appeared in Google News, along with hundreds of other articles written around the vaccination court cases. No doubt there were parties real unhappy that this article was appearing on major newswires and we at Planet Chiropractic are continuing to deal with the aftermath of attention received. We work to make […]

Chiro a Bad Name Choice For Websites

I know someone is going to argue this but I have to say after over 10 years of purchasing domain names the term “chiro” is a poor choice when planning to create websites for patients and other consumers. Notice I said developing websites for patients and not chiropractors. In chiropractic, there are many sites using the “chiro” prefix in their domain name. We chiropractors tend to see these terms and we say “KiRo.” However, consumers often say “cheero” like cheerios or cheer for me, yippie doodle day. Now in fairness I also hear some consumers say words that sound like […]

The Yellow Pages directory of Canada (YellowPages.ca) is including RSS content on their directory pages. From a search engine standpoint the reason someone would include RSS content on their site would be to increase the amount of data showing up on a particular page. Most yellowpages and directory web sites don’t have detailed information about the business listings they are displaying, beyond basic address and contact info. For example, if the Yellow Pages web site had a listing for a chiropractor in Winnipeg, Manitoba there would not be much content on the page other than the doctor’s phone number, address, […]

Improving the Online Chiropractic Experience

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Spent some time today with leadership of the California Chiropractic Association, to discuss potential for chiropractors, chiropractic groups, and organizations, to work together online in creating more advanced and easy to use interfaces that will be beneficial to chiropractors and the people they serve. If BJ Palmer were online, I would imagine he would be maximizing fully all the potential the internet had to offer, in promoting and preserving the message of chiropractic. I have to give credit to Dr. John Bueler for having the vision to put todays meeting together. As a cohesive group we […]

Making Mahalo My Home Page

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. About a week ago a friend of mine e-mailed me suggesting I check out a new search engine web site called Mahalo. He wanted to get my opinion on the web site so I checked it out (I always love when friends check out my web site as well). So I checked out the web site and I thought it was pretty basic. It had a simple and clean layout that was easy on my eyes. I spent a few minutes searching for various terms and then e-mailed my friend back to tell him what I […]

I Moved My Chiropractic Practice

By Sharon Gorman, D.C. Monday Morning Message – 6/12/07 Begin Today Boy, I have had a crazy few weeks. Just a few weeks ago I moved my practice. I moved into an office three times the size of my last office. I guess it is easier to move into a bigger space rather than a smaller office yet any move is traumatic. A few days before I made the move I was talking to another chiropractor. I hadn’t seen him in a while and I stopped off at his office one afternoon. He started to tell me about his practice […]

Google buys FeedBurner RSS Website

Google announced on Friday, June 1st, 2007 that they were purchasing popular RSS Feed website FeedBurner.com. I was excited to hear this news as I believe it will greatly advance the utilization of RSS (Really Simple Syndication) online. FeedBurner is not an old website, according to whois records, the domain was registered in December of 2003. From what I’ve read Google will be incorporating Adwords into RSS feeds which will open up a number of new opportunities for advertisers and webmasters. RSS is not only for Blogs and News websites, the XML format is being used in many ways and […]
