Decompression Nutrition Core Stabilization Seminars

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. From the batch of flyers I received in the mail over the weekend comes a decompression seminar in El Segundo, California, a nutrition seminar in Ventura County, California, and a core stabilization seminar also in California (but I thought it was in Cabo San Lucas). The decompression seminar is on December 1 (which is a Saturday) from 830 to 5 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2100 East Mariposa Ave., El Segundo, CA 90245. According to the flyer it’s going to be a small hands-on event which will be limited to 50 registrations. Seminar fee is […]

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I picked up an iPod Touch today at the Apple Store, Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. I’d been looking at some mini computers and wanted to get something I could do some web browsing on. I didn’t know about this until just the other day and it looks like it has all I need to keep active when not using my computer. I got the 16gb version. It displays photos, video, plays audio, has a Safari web browser, clock, contact app, alarm, timer (stop watch), and some other features. Have not loaded up my music […]

More New Patients with Posters

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I didn’t know where to put this so it’s ending up in the rant section. I’ve been posting regularly about stuff I get in the mail and I’m starting to get behind as a stack is building up on the couch. I can’t even lay down now so I’ve got to get some topics posted or just toss everything in the recycle bin. I received a postcard from a chiropractor in Freehold, NJ 07728 that on the front said “Do You Want More New Patients?” Now, so everyone understands, I LOVE NEW PATIENTS, but I get […]

Orthotic Foot Scanning At Five Adidas Locations

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. While I was in San Francisco this past Saturday, checking out the Nike Women’s Marathon Preview, I had some time to visit the Adidas store in Union Square. On the ground level of the store was a new foot scanning system that allows people to get custom orthotic fitting analysis while in the store. Talking to a sales representative I was told that scanning analysis was done on Saturdays and Sundays and the process was free. Three reasons to have a custom foot analysis done include creation of athletic shoes that offer better control (for those […]

Interstate 880 South San Jose

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Do you know the way to San Jose? According to this sign, which I took a picture of while walking along Hegenberger Rd in Oakland, Interstate 880 South is the way to San Jose. Looks like somebody tried to clean off graffiti from the sign. The soft flash on my digital camera really brought it out. When I travel I like think about how I would go about finding products and services in the area I’m visiting. In this case, I was in Oakland, and I was taking a stroll between the Courtyard Marriott Hotel and […]

Massage Chairs and Mattresses

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. The mail keeps coming. I often wonder if other chiropractic offices receive as much mail as I do. I have to assume that they do. For such a small industry, it’s amazing how much marketing material and product advertising letters and postcards chiropractic offices receive each day. Today alone, I received no less than four pieces of mail related to products someone is trying to sell to chiropractors. Products included mattresses, probiotics, massage chairs, and software. First piece of mail was for a mattress company called isleep and it was a postcard offering free educational materials […]

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. Among the postcards and faxes I received in my chiropractic office yesterday were three pieces of information for upcoming seminars and events directed at health-care professionals. I received a postcard from the National Association of Certified National Health Professionals (try saying that real fast) with information about an event that’s going to be in the Los Angeles area during the month of November. According to the postcard, this program emphasizes on the practical aspects of maintaining homeostasis in the body and maximizing health. The seminar is expected to address issues related to organs, glands, tissues and […]

A video clip of Bill Maher and his thoughts on America’s pharmaceutical industry. If you believe you need to take all the pills the pharmaceutical industry says you do, then you’re already on drugs. Bill Maher talks about that time in the campaign where all the candidates are presenting their health care proposals. In the video Maher states… But none of the plans address the real problem. We won’t stop being sick, unless we stop making ourselves sick. The government isn’t your nanny… this guy is funny. Check out the video and pass it on to a friend.

Does this fur coat make me look too fat?

I just had to share this photograph. Clicking on the image opens up a new window with a much larger sized version of this photo. This is Booberry (we mostly call her Boo), the most tiny of miniature poodles. She weighs in at just under 2 pounds and likes to get on the scale to prove it. Whenever I’m in the bathroom brushing my teeth Boo hops up and hangs out on the scale until I’m done. I can’t recall the last time I weighed myself on that bathroom scale, but Booberry is diligent, and she checks her weight daily. […]

Why Chiropractors should support Ron Paul

By Michael Dorausch, D.C. I’m getting more e-mails regarding the Ron Paul Revolution article from yesterday than pretty much anything else I’ve received comments on over the past 10 years. I’m going to repost a number of the e-mails I received since last night but I’m removing all names and e-mail addresses. If anything posted here is discovered to be protected by copyright or lifted from another web site, let me know and I’ll delete it, or source link the information. You’re welcome to leave comments below. All the information I’m listing here was received in my e-mail inbox during […]
