by Michael Dorausch, DC Nice to have a big fat wireless WiFi connection when staying at hotels. Comes in super handy when you want to power up your Ubuntu Dell XPS (Windows crashed) and browse the net with friends and business colleagues. Interacted with dozens of chiropractors from the United States and Canada this past few days and I received lots of website related feedback from chiropractors that have a presence on the Web. Was talking to Dr. George Khoury (today was his 40th birthday) who practices Chiropractic in Livermore and he was saying his office does not get a
by Michael Dorausch, DC I spent some time hanging out with other chiropractors recently in Scottsdale, Arizona. I was attending a chiropractic seminar at the prestigious Arizona Biltmore Hotel (what a spectacular place) and while I was there I collected a bunch of chiropractic business cards and postcards so that I could share them with you online. I love hanging out with other positive thinking business minded individuals and the chiropractors who were at the Biltmore are top-notch. A Toronto chiropractor, Dr. Ruminder Birk, handed me the Chiropractic Gold Card that is shown here. The business card is cut, colored,
by Michael Dorausch, DC Big Air Skateboarder Jake Brown fell nearly 50 feet last night at X Games 13. In a crowd shocker, after lying there for almost 5 minutes, Brown got up and walked it off. I’ve been at events like these for years and one thing I’ve learned from extreme action sports people is they don’t like having medics on the course. I remember doing an event in Santa Monica in 2001 when someone riding BMX face planted into a pile of dirt and shredded their face. They refused medical attention until they were off of the run.

by Michael Dorausch, DC I was at breakfast with a group of friends last Saturday and a conversation came up regarding success stories in the music industry. First, this is no ordinary group of guys talking about music. Second, I had my laptop. You may be asking yourself “what kind of a nerd brings a computer to breakfast” …that would be me. The guys were talking about consumer behavior, monetizing music, artists that make money versus those that don’t, and success stories in the industry. For me, it’s hard not to listen to any conversation related to business and not
by Michael Dorausch, Chiropractor Today, LAX stands for Los Angeles X Games 2007 and not Los Angeles International Airport. Fans are rolling into town here in Los Angeles and Carson and practice runs for most events are over for the day. People flying past Carson may be wondering is that a plane? No, it was a Moto X rider performing a double backflip! There has already been some reports of injuries with BMX Rock Star Chad Kagy winding up with a fractured collarbone and a few other riders moving slowly due to various aches and pains. That won’t stop most
Extreme sports participants have been arriving at LAX since the weekend and X Games 13 kicks off in Los Angeles today. BMX pros began freestyle big air practice on Tuesday, July 31 and continued with big air practice on Wednesday. That may look like an ordinary chiropractic adjustment to some but it’s actually a right sided pelvic pushing sacral moving tail whip preparation adjustment performed by LAX coastal chiropractor, Dr. Michael Dorausch.EXPN has a live cam set up so you can watch the BMX freestyle big air practices. Don’t have a link yet directly to the live cam but you
This came across our email today… President Bush to veto ban on mercury in flu vaccines President Bush is to veto a bill that would ban mercury in flu vaccines for children despite its known links to autism and other neurological disorders and despite the fact that he pledged in 2004 to support such a move when campaigning for re-election. The White House stated on Tuesday that President Bush would veto the FY 2008 HHS-Labor-Education Appropriations Bill because of the cost and “objectionable provisions” such as a measure to ban the use of childhood flu vaccines that contain thimerosal, a
by Michael Dorausch, DC Thought I’d share a top ten list we’ve used in our Los Angeles Chiropractic office for the past few years. It’s one of those things that took moments to create yet has been used and commented on nearly every day. People in our office love it! You’ll want to modify the list for your practice and maybe change some terms, but be sure to keep #1 and #10 in order (I also have a top list below for straight chiropractors). The stuff in parenthesis are just ideas for you to build on. Top Ten Reasons to
