Chiropractic Site Received Some National Press Today

by Michael Dorausch, DC The Planet Chiropractic web site received some national press today, being the featured story in the “Managing for Success” section of Investors Business Daily (their Monday Special print edition). I was notified about the online version of the article late Friday night, and since the weekend, I’ve seen it appearing on major news websites such as Investors.com, CNN.com, Yahoo News, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Canada, Topix, and others. I have also began to see it pop up on various blogs, especially those focused around Van Halen or search engine keyword targeting techniques. If you’re interested, you may

Domain Name Expiration Notice

by Michael Dorausch, DC If you own an Internet domain name, chances are you’ve received a letter like the one that came in my mail today. It was a domain name expiration notice sent by some company I’ve never done business with before. The letter appears official with pictures of the American flag, barcodes, and credit card logos. I’m told I’m receiving this letter as a courtesy to notify me that domain name registration on a chiropractic domain is due to expire in the next few months. I am also told that when I switch to this domain registry service

The answer to these questions shapes your life

by Sharon Gorman, DC Get quiet for a second. What do you hear? That voice keeps on talking. Feelings keep on coming up. For the flash of a second that you hear that or feel that you don’t get to choose it. It is there. Now what do you do with it. . . the thought. . . what do you do with it if it is negative. Do you let the negative in and start feeling bad about yourself? Do you start to doubt your abilities? Your previous choices? Your judgment? The answer to these questions shapes your life.

New York Times Keeps Links to Themselves

by Michael Dorausch, DC What’s the deal with colossal websites, like the New York Times, keeping all their links to themselves? Not that there’s any law that says they can’t do so, I just think it goes against what most other websites and blogs are doing. I noticed a story today in the Times related to Virgil Griffith and his WikiScanner. In the Times article, there are lots of internal links to other Times content, but no outbound links for Virgil. I find that interesting and this is why… Last week news broke out online regarding Virgil Griffith’s WikiScanner. Beginning

Elizabeth Hurley does a GOD Whammy!

by Michael Dorausch, DC Elizabeth Hurley is getting some press this week and having her name appear in Google Hot Trends. I’m not yet quite sure why but I just noticed a dailystab blogpost of Hurley in a t-shirt she was photographed wearing, earlier last week. Elizabeth is my favorite Chirodelic Chiropractor, appearing as Dr. Ann Beamer, in the film Double Whammy, which she co-starred in with super funny actor Denis Leary. Did not realize how long ago that film was made. Planet Chiropractic had a post about it (Elizabeth Hurley, D.C.) in June of 2000, and then again in

by Michael Dorausch, DC In the past two days, you’ve likely seen the news regarding the mad scientist creation of Virgil Griffith, his ultra wicked WikiScanner. We posted a Wikipedia manipulation article regarding Virgil and his IP matching, corporate chaos creating, wikipedia anonymous user, can opener type tool. The second article was more about Virgil and the reasons behind why he created his application. I was excited about the development of WikiScanner because I’ve been working on a project which involved compiling a list of all Wikipedia users that made edits to the page on chiropractic. This tool helps make

What You Think About, You Bring About

by Michael Dorausch, DC A photo of a saying that has been on the walls inside my chiropractic office for a long time… Amazing to hear how many people each day read that out loud, while in the adjusting rooms. Use it!

No Human Bones in AP News Photos

by Michael Dorausch, DC There was a photographer from the Associated Press (AP) at my Los Angeles chiropractic office earlier today who was taking photos for an article that is going to appear somewhere in the news in the next couple of weeks. I had to get to the office early and move some items around because yesterday I spoke to a photo representative from AP and he said they didn’t want to see any human bones in photographs. I hadn’t noticed how many bones there were in the office until after I heard that statement. I was looking around

by Michael Dorausch, DC I’ve been doing research for more than a year now on a single Wikipedia entry that I have been particularly interested in. I’ve had some suspicions as to who’s making the edits on the particular page, and if any organizations were involved. Thanks to a new tool created by Caltech graduate student Virgil Griffith, known as a wikiscanner, this sort of work is going to get a lot easier for many. I wrote about it in Planet Chiropractic news earlier today (Web Tool Outs Wikipedia Manipulators) and it’s currently a topic that’s growing hotter by the

7 Topics Driving Traffic to Website

by Michael Dorausch, DC On Sunday, I did a different kind of news article on Planet Chiropractic. It was the result of a bunch of friends asking me questions over the weekend about search traffic, keywords, and delivering timely content. I thought it would be a good idea to answer their questions by way of an article, so I posted the news article Sunday afternoon, not really expecting to hear any feedback. It’s funny how things sometimes happen when you are helping others and not expecting anything in return. Later Sunday afternoon I noticed the news post appearing in Google
