Are there any chiropractic school representatives that want to answer questions potential students have?
I’m a physical therapist from Germany, and I’m interested in joining the Doctor of Chiropractic program. I couldn’t find out how much this program would cost and how many years it actually takes to become a Chiropractor. I’m not sure if you are the right person to ask this question. Could you help me out?Â
We receive emails daily from people asking questions (like above) about going to chiropractic school. Some may figure we have all these sorts of answers but we don’t. Today I received the above email from Germany by someone seeking more information about cost and time required for the Doctor of Chiropractic program in the USA.
I send most questioners to this page [Chiropractic Schools] but I’m assuming most have already been there. As far as I know the DC program in the US is ~ 4-5 years, not including pre-requisite courses. Cost? More than when I went to school.
Anyone have an answer? Don’t need an exact number but a ballpark $$ would be nice. I’d like to know how much it would cost to attend the full DC program at your chiropractic college. Don’t include pre-reqs, loans, books, etc… All requirements are meet and they’d like to begin classes January 2008. If I wrote you a check tomorrow for someones full DC program tuition in advance how much would it be?

1In the Uk there are 3 Chiropractic Colleges offering BSc (hons) or MChiro degrees. Training takes 5 years and currently costs in the region of £35k (US$ 75,000). All welcome international candidates but please note that tuition is in English. Only one has a January intake (McTimoney College of Chiropractic) - the other 2 have a September intake. All 3 colleges are recognised and accredited by the uk statuatory regulator, the General Chiropractic Council and degrees are confered by Universities.

2I know this is late, but I just found the site.
I attend Logan College of Chiropractics, but I also did a lot of background research on most schools here in the US.
If you have all your pre-requisites done (60 semester hours, plus making sure you have the right courses within those 60) then you simply apply to the schools. There is no exam process right now.
The average tuition of a chiropractic college is $7000-$7500 per trimester give or take. A degree requires 10 trimesters so you are looking at $70-75,000 for a degree. Thats just tuition. With all the other junk thrown in.. the average student gets out of school spending approximately $100-150,000 depending on rent, books etc.
Time wise, like I said, a degree takes 10 trimesters to complete after the pre-requisites are met. All of the schools run year round so the program is usually completed in 3 and 1/3 years barring any set backs such as failing a class or missing time. If you decide to take summers off (god knows why) you would complete the program in 5 years.
